In September 1993, the Bluff Park Art Association commissioned a sculpture for the Hoover Public Library by Frank Fleming. The sculpture "The Reader" was to honor the associations' 30-year anniversary of supporting the arts in Hoover and the Birmingham Metropolitan area.
