Hoover seniors receive 2019 Bluff Park Art Association Scholarship

Hoover High School senior Jacob Taylor and Spain Park High School senior Olivia Williams are the 2019 recipients of the Bluff Park Art Association art scholarship.

The scholarship – in the amount of $2,500 for each recipient – is given annually to a graduating Spain Park or Hoover high school student who intends to pursue a career in the visual arts.  Applicants compete through portfolio presentations.

Jacob, a photographer, will be pursuing a degree in media studies with a visual field option at Auburn University, while Olivia, a painter, will be studying graphic design at Jacksonville State University.

In addition to the scholarship, BPAA awards each recipient’s teacher $250 for classroom supplies. Jacob is a student of Hoover High teacher Ben Rigsby. Olivia is a student of Cindy Childers, a teacher at Spain Park.
