Debra Eubanks Riffe, a native of Tupelo (Lee County) Mississippi grew up in Washington, DC She earned her BA from Howard University, College of Fine Arts, Washington DC, and has been a professional graphic designer and illustrator for more than thirty years. She illustrates her love of Southern culture in hand-pulled relief prints of woodcuts, linoleum block prints and needlepoint tapestries. Debra is a narrative artist who portrays African Americans in everyday moments illuminating themes of social justice, music, civil rights, illiteracy, and food inequality.
